Cider Taste Test 0.5 vs 1

My friend finally made her way over, and we tried 2 batches of my cider… the ones made with 0.5 tsp and 1tsp of yeast.
They both been in the fridge since Aug 7.

0.5 tsp
One thing that I noticed with the 0.5tsp was that it had what I would call a watery after taste… but the drink itself didn’t taste watery, if that makes sense at all.
It was nice, not amazing… but then again, putting things into perspective, we’re looking at a $2.00 jar of home made cider, so lets not expect miracles here.
Taste was almost like a dry apple wine.

1 tsp
The 1tsp, surprisingly, had a nicer taste. I thought that it would have had a bready/yeasty taste, but that wasn’t the case at all. I think the umami from the yeast actually filled in some of the flavour profile and removed the watery after-taste I found in the first jar. I may have to update my “go to” recipe, as I’ve been defaulting to 0.5…
