International Favour pt2: The Hunt
Thankfully the trip was quick on the second leg of my journey… it was nice to see the buildings sliding by the window as we rolled on. I also noticed that a Burger King has moved in on the corner… Good to know! :D
Getting into the apartment there was one thing on my mind, LOL, I needed to expel some coffee!; it had been almost 2 hours since I finished it and our relationship was over.
Crisis averted, now able to concentrate, I got to work… should be easy enough, right?… I’m looking for the red passport in the red bag on the bottom shelf of the China Cabinet.
Popping the lights as I step into the dining room I see it… a pinky red bag on the shelf, grab it and to my dismay see that it is filled with beaded vintage purses… no passport to be seen. Not being one to easily give up, I open the drawer that is located under the bottom shelf and am greeted piles of papers.
Immediately, I knew I was on the right track… passports love hiding in with paperwork, so I quickly rifle through the drawer, trying not to look at anything as I go… just waiting to see the colour red pop out from under the white… and quickly found the red bag…followed by a second… which was followed by a third.
Not a passport to be found in any of them.
Now I’m starting to get a little freaked out… time for drastic measures.
I empty the drawer into the floor, and put everything back, item by item just so I can be sure I don’t miss it.
I was thrilled when I found a couple of ziplock bags halfway through the second pile of stuff from the drawer, because one of them had the passport I was looking for.
Needless to say I was relieved as all honk to have finally found that, and was grinning as I shoveled everything back into the drawer.
A quick watering of the house plants, and scooping up a bag of treats that was waiting for me into my pack and I was out the door again.
Followed by a thankfully uneventful trip home, all told I was 4 hours out and back, and I’m not done yet! I still need to figure out where I’m sending this thing and how…
